| SUZANNE
ROTHENBERG, is a writer, publicist, and educator with over
25 years experience in corporate, not-for-profit, and agency public relations
for television, education, and the arts.
Prior to forming her own firm in 1992, she was vice president in charge
of the New York office of a Los Angeles-based entertainment PR firm, where
she directed national accounts for: American Express, CINAR, The Disney
Channel, Electra Entertainment, General Motors, HBO, IBM, Morgan Guaranty,
MCI, The National Geographic Society, National Science Foundation, PBS,
the Public Education Network, Thirteen/WNET, and Scholastic Entertainment,
among others.
Before that, she spent six years at Cablevision Systems, serving as executive
assistant to Charles Dolan, launching Cablevision of Connecticut, directing
its programming and public affairs department, producing television programming,
and eventually managing Cablevision’s corporate public relations
department.
An expert in event planning, she has produced events featuring Lily Tomlin,
Robert Reich, Marian Wright Edelman, Walter Cronkite, Charles Kuralt,
Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Patrick Stewart, Chuck Jones, and John Ritter
among others.
As part time faculty at New York University, she is currently an adjunct
professor in public relations writing in the Culture and Communications
Department of the Steinhardt School of Education, teaches public relations
at the Management Institute and is a former director of NYU’s Summer
Institute in Public Relations. A frequent panelist and speaker on PR at
high schools and colleges, she is an honors graduate of Carnegie-Mellon
University, holds an M.A. in Speech and Theatre from Herbert H. Lehman
College, and has completed doctoral coursework in communications at NYU.
She is a juror of the International Emmy awards, a member of the Media
Coalition and Women in Television and Film. She lives in Manhattan. |
